Problem Statements

  1. Solve a Local Problem
Title : Reduce carbon emissions from NIT Silchar Campus
    Description
There is a multitude of people living on the NIT Silchar campus, be it students, guards or faculties. Naturally, this will generate a lot of waste. Waste is best treated when its properties are known. The management authority wants to obtain data on waste being generated on the
campus as well as be able to provide selective data to third-party corporations who excel in
    treating waste.
Develop a solution to help the management authority such that residents of the campus can
share the data of their wastes, like weight, nature, location, time and other such properties, with them, as well as facilitating them to provide selective data to the partnering corporations and help the campus give an impactful contribution in waste management.
    Expected output:
  • A web or a mobile application for the residents of the college and another for the
    management authorities.
  • Multiple levels of authorization, where residents can only upload or update their entries
of waste, and corporations can only access the data that they will be allowed to by the
management authorities, meanwhile, the management authorities have paramount
    control over the data.
    Assumptions:
  • Corporations will reuse/recycle the waste from the information gained from the
    developed solution.
  • Residents will upload accurate information about their waste, which can include location,
time, nature, the weight of the waste and even an image of it
  1. Web 3 and Blockchain
Title : Smart Resource Management System using Web
    Description
Whenever there is a supply change in the market, the increase in the number of goods
purchased and used is logged by the user. Maintaining a database of requirements and the
transactions necessary to complete those requirements is difficult, tiresome and requires
supervision. The user has to keep a notice on the database and create transactions with the
    specific vendor for supplies.
However, Blockchain provides a unique opportunity to automate the entire process of
transactions based on data fed into the system. Design a blockchain-based system, and can
create the transactions necessary for the warehouse to remain at maximum efficiency.
    Expected output:
  • A single-user system with an integrated crypto wallet, where the user can add the
cryptocurrency that will be used whenever a transaction is needed to be completed.
  • To account for user approval, the system should implement a 2-factor authentication for
    every automated transaction.
  • A user page where user can view their current balance, basic details and previous
    transactions.
  • The system should prioritize purchases based on (in the given order where (a) Is the
    highest)
  • The available balance of the user
  • Difference between the Required good quantity and current quantity.
  • The system should not only be able to purchase, but also return the excess from the
    warehouse.
  • A Warehouse management viewport, where the user can see the warehouse stats.
  • A custom transaction portal where the user can manually create transactions as well,
which should recommend necessary goods and warn against excess products.
    Assumptions:
  • Vendors accept cryptocurrencies.
  • The user uploads data daily.
